ALTERED MEANS presents CC Calloway & Jill Frank: do you ever feel left out? at Collect with a pop-up by ART PAPERS for the release of its newest issue, 41.01 – Cultural Capital.

CC Calloway’s work is an effort to create a space of shared empathy. Focusing on present-day web experience, CC questions how intimacy and empathy function in a world where information and resources are so easily created, shared, and expended. Through a process of self-archive, CC collected and repurposes ephemera to locate glimpses of honesty in the fast-paced culture of the digital world. Originally from Augusta, GA, CC now lives and works in Atlanta. She is a 2017-2018 WonderRoot Hughley Fellow and an artist-in-residence at Atlanta Printmaker’s Studio. She received her BFA from the Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia.

Jill Frank is a visual artist working primarily in photography. Jill’s work deals with the negotiation and indeterminacy of dominant social and cultural narratives. Her current work investigates American “rites of passage,” and how they inform cultural status symbols and identity formation. Jill received her BA in photography from Bard College and her MFA in Studio Art from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work has been shown nationally and internationally, and solo exhibitions include Contemporary Art Workshop, Chicago; Golden Gallery, Chicago; and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago. She was a 2015-2016 MOCA GA Working Artist Project Fellow.
