Founded in 2014 in Atlanta, ALTERED MEANS was (maybe still is and will be!) an adaptive, experimental curatorial platform that presented its projects through a variety of methods including gallery exhibitions, performances, printed matter, and more. Not tied to a physical space, ALTERED MEANS approached its collaborations and partnerships with a spirit of generosity.

Based loosely on Max’s Kansas City, a nightclub in NYC that was open from 1965 to 1981 and became a gathering spot for artists, musicians, poets, and the like, bkc is a cozy space for experimentation, conversation, and fun.
