a scleroderma specimen

Selected photographs from the series a scleroderma specimen in domestic spaces, 2009

Using Jo Spence and Rosy Martin’s photo therapy methodology, I re-inhabit medical photographs of myself when I was a child.  I placed these photographs around my mother’s home to claim a space for my diseased body in the family photographic landscape.

  1. This makes me cry. My sister had scares and disfigurement as a child from a rare disease. No child should have to go through what you have. Life can be cruel, you are so brave.
